Why me?

I ask this a thousand times
Why me?
The doors, that failed to open
The doors, that locked me in.
The doors that I knocked
The doors that someone closed.
And the doors that I locked
And those that I could not open.

What was it?
My name,
My origin
My colour
My creed?

I ask myself a thousand times
Why me?

Camouflaged my language to sound native
Beatified my name to look saintly
Dressed up, to look posh
Patched up to look polished.
yet,
Only more knocks
And
No locks clucked open
To let me out
or let me in

I ask myself a thousand times
Why me?
